IP Service Assurance Probe
The DigiTest ICE delivers triple play service assurance from the remote DSLAM location, offering a full suite of multi-layered capabilities, all controlled via the LoopCare Test OSS.
Available in three different configurations, DigiTest ICE offers both physical-layer and broadband serivce assurance. The three configuations are:
DigiTest ICE LE offering physical-layer fault detection and isolation.
DigiTest ICE BA which combines physical layer service assurance with broadband service assurance for ADSL, ADSL2+, and VDSL2.
DigiTest ICE G combines physical-layer and bradoband service assurance for g.SHDSL.
As Triple Play networks evolve, deployments using Fiber To The Node (FTTN) access methods are pushing further out to remote sites located closer the customer. These sites require smaller DSLAMs, each serving fewer subscribers. Traditional test heads have not been able meet the requirements of these sites, including the ability to fit within the smaller cabinets. Also, these test heads were optimized for large sites, with costs-per-line-tested that cannot meet the stringent ROI requirements of
the FTTN distributed sites.
Understanding these challenges, Tollgrade has leveraged its vast experience to provide a more cost-effective and efficient service assurance solution for IP Triple Play services - the compact
DigiTest ® ICE™ Service Assurance Probe and LoopCare™ OSS. The ICE is located at the remote FTTN site - inside the DSLAM cabinet - placing it close to the customer and providing powerful visibility into the subscriber experience at an acceptable cost per line.
