DigiTest® HUB™ delivers a comprehensive testing solution as connection-based networks converge to more homogeneous, connectionless, packet-based networks. Throughout this transition, service providers will be faced with the increasingly complex challenge of maintaining multiple networks and troubleshooting problems distributed over multiple access platforms.

Tollgrade’s DigiTest HUB serves the testing needs of the legacy network, while helping facilitate a low-cost, asset-preserving transition to the evolving packet network. Tollgrade’s LoopCare Test OSS provides a transparent interface for loop and service testing—based on a common GUI—and access/subscriber identifiers irrespective of the type of network delivery.

The DigiTest HUB’s 14-slot chassis has been sized to meet the comprehensive testing needs of medium-to-large central offices where a variety of services originate. Plug-in modules can be added, as required, to support POTS, DSL Layer 1-7 and specials testing. Test plug-in resources can be shared by multiple network elements using a module that can switch test access pairs to any DigiTest HUB test resource. This includes sharing a test resource to remote access elements as fiber is driven further out into network topologies, such as FTTC or FTTN.

The DigiTest HUB uses many of the same test resources as Tollgrade’s DigiTest EDGE. Service providers can use both DigiTest HUB and DigiTest EDGE within the network and be assured of common functionality and ease-of-maintenance. The HUB retains the expected capabilities of many legacy test devices and can be used to consolidate and replace aging, obsolete and difficult-to-maintain test assets.
