4TEL®
DT-RoutineTest
4TEL RT provides the means to pro-actively test each line in the network on a regular basis. This functionality, known as routining, allows the service provider to schedule automated testing for the lines in any or all exchanges.
By adding routining capabilities to the 4TEL DT measurement and analysis platform, all lines in each exchange can be scheduled for testing, or a subset of lines can be selected for testing. Routines can be configured to start and stop at times appropriate for avoiding other testing activities (e.g., field repair activities) and so that results will be available for analysis when needed.
By regularly testing all lines in the network, the service provider can pro-actively identify faults and degrading lines. Routing results can also be used to identify multiple faults in common network equipment (e.g., the same cable bundle).
Regular, timely identification of copper loop problems can reduce costs by increasing repair efficiency, and early identification of problems can increase customer satisfaction.
4TEL RT results are archived on the TSC and are used to create advisory reports which identify the lines requiring attention.
For instances where unusual conditions are present, detailed measurement data is also available for use by a technical expert in further analyzing the problem.
